A Look At Delray Beach Economy

Relocation to a different part of the country is a major event in any persons life so it makes sense to investigate every feasible aspect of the city you are considering as your new home. The state of Florida has many attractive attributes that should be considered when relocating. A very promising site in Florida is the southern coastal towns located there. The Delray Beach economy is something that deserves consideration from serious lookers.

According to the last census the unemployment rate is under the national average and job growth projections over the next few years are rated at over forty percent. The average household income is over sixty thousand dollars a year when there are two employed persons in the home. The normal span of hours of employment for most workers is full time or forty hours per week.

There has been a twenty five year revitalization plan in progress for this city. The downtown area has been put on a master plan schedule by the city commission and the community redevelopment and this has resulted in many new shops, dining spots attorneys, architects doctors and financial businesses. The advent of such vigorous growth in public and private development has inspired many to work, live and play in the Urban Core of this city.

Millions of dollars have been directed to the center part of the city and with the time controlled growth and redevelopment that is in place the city's economy continues to improve. Much of the employment opportunities available to people are focused in sales, office work and management fields and many service oriented opportunities are also frequently available.

In this town the largest place of employment is the medical center. They employ nearly fifteen hundred people in various positions. The other large companies have positions for three to five hundred people each and most could be classified as service oriented or sales positions. Target and Marriott's are two larger employers in the city.

Employers with smaller staff are usually involved with restaurants, retail shops and financial offices. These operations rarely have more than ten employees at any given time. Many of them are the newer companies that have evolved during the renovation period and are located in the city hub on Atlantic.

Hotels and summer rentals are a large part of this economy during the summer months. Visitors rent cottages and suites and spend weeks in the area walking and exploring the many beaches that border the Eastern side of town. The funds they bring with them when they arrive is spent on the beaches and in the retail stores that can be found on the shoreline. Many also visit the Everglades National Wildlife refuge.

While this is a relatively small city compared to some of its neighbors this city of over sixty thousand offers numerous opportunities for young career minded people and their families. It is also a place that has a very good growth pattern for new businesses. Some larger businesses have already located their corporate headquarters in this area. This area has gained a reputation of a prosperous future for its inhabitants.
