The 1962 Indo China War Memorial is situated about 25 kilometers out of Tawang town. The memorial is dedicated to an Indian infantryman who stood out in the bloody war. Accounts state that he held back a Chinese attack for 72 hours all on his own. His post was at a 10000 foot altitude. After the lengthy hold off, he fell to an enemy bullet. Scenic terrain with nature trails surrounds the memorial.
